This year, the GCSE examination body Edexcel, released a mock GCSE maths paper. The paper came in two parts. In Paper 1 (Non-Calculator), they made a significant mistake. Question 17a asked the pupils to complete a table of values. The "x" row had already been filled in for the pupils. However, it listed the numbers wrongly. It listed -3 through to 3 but instead of writing -1, Edexcel wrote -3 again. Therefore the tableread as follows: -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3.
It is appalling that one of the UK's top exam boards could make such a drastic mistake, imagine if this happened in the actual GCSE paper!
